The Presenter:

Dr. Walter Maiwald (Dipl.-Chem., rer. nat, ) – Managing Director, Maiwald Patentanwalts GmbH (Munich, Germany)

Dr. Walter Maiwald is the managing director of Maiwald Patentanwalts GmbH in Munich, Germany, a member firm of the Association of Patent Law Firms. His main practice areas include German and international intellectual property law, including patent and trademark prosecution and infringement, litigation, licensing and related consulting services. He has organized and conducted national and international litigation for major clients, in fields ranging from pharmaceuticals to sensor and signal processing technologies. He has successfully represented clients at all court levels in Germany and up to the European Patent Office’s Enlarged Board of Appeal. Walter studied chemistry and English language and literature at the University of Hamburg and at Imperial College, London. He took his German patent bar examination in 1985 and his European patent attorney’s examination in 1987 and is a registered European trademark attorney.
